Lou Reed (Brooklyn, New York, 2 de Março de 1942) é um cantor, guitarrista e compositor norte-americano.
Foi um dos vocais do The Velvet Underground, influenciando Iggy Pop, New York Dolls e David Bowie. Mais tarde toda a cena pós-punk inglesa. Admirador de Poe e Raymond Chandler, além de James Joyce, a quem faz referências em “Blue Mask”.
