I Break Horses is a Swedish band formed in Stockholm in 2008 by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Maria Lindén and lyricist Fredrik Balck. Moving through genres such as dream pop, shoegazing and electronic music, his music has yielded comparisons with bands like My Bloody Valentine and Beach House.

The curious name was taken from the title of a track on the EP 'Kicking a Couple Around', released in 1996 by Smog, a project by American singer and songwriter Bill Callahan.

In 2011, the duo released their first album, ‘Hearts’ on the Bella Union label. At this time, the band toured with M83 and, subsequently, with Sigur Rós.

Her second album, ‘Chiaroscuro’, was released in 2014. I Break Horses returned in 2020 with the praised third album, ‘Warnings’.
