Rufus Wainwright is an American-Canadian singer and songwriter known for his pop music that flirts with classical music.

Born Rufus McGarrigle Wainwright on July 22, 1973 in New York, the son of folk singers and musicians Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle and brother of singer Martha Wainwright, the artist started playing the piano at the age of six when he lived in Montreal.

Rufus Wainwright released a series of albums starting in 1998. Release the Stars, work of 2007, is his album that has achieved greater commercial success.
