English alternative rock band, The 1975's work is influenced by styles such as electropop, punk pop, pop and R&B. The group has already cited Prince, Talking Heads, My Bloody Valentine, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Sigur Rós and Michael Jackson as musical influences.

Formed in 2002 in Manchester by Matthew Healy (vocals, guitar), Adam Hann (guitar), George Daniel (drums) and Ross MacDonald (bass), the quartet released their debut album, 'The 1975', in 2013, produced by Mike Crossey (worked with Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Keane, Jake Bugg, Blood Red Shoes, among others). The album was received with positive reviews.

Her second album, 'I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It', was released in February 2016.

In 2018, The 1975 released 'A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships'. In 2020, the band released 'Notes on a Conditional Form', an album featuring a monologue by Swedish activist Greta Thunberg on the track “The 1975”. The group returned in 2022 with their fifth full-length album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language.
