Bat For Lashes, Florence and the Machine, Lily Allen,La Roux, Pixie Lott e Lady Gaga: estas são apenas algumas das mulheres nomeadas para as várias categorias do Brit Awards, um dos mais importantes prêmios da indústria musical inglesa.
Refletindo o recente protagonismo das cantoras na pop mundial, as nomeações contemplam, ainda, Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Rihanna, Shakira, Norah Jones ou Ladyhawke.
Nos grupos, o Animal Collective (foto) recolhe os frutos de um ano de maior visibilidade midiática, com duas nomeações: para Melhor Álbum Internacional, por “Merriweather Post Pavillion”, e Revelação Internacional, apesar da discografia anterior.
Ainda na competição entre bandas, o Muse irá disputar com Doves, Kasabian, Friendly Fires e JLS o ambicionado troféu de Melhor Banda Britânica, mas estão ausentes da disputa por Melhor Álbum.
Os vencedores serão conhecidos numa cerimônia agendada para 16 de Fevereiro, em Londres. Nessa noite, será entregue a Robbie Williams o Prêmio por Contribuição Extraordinária para a Música, uma espécie de Prêmio de Carreira. (Blitz)
