Body Type

Body Type is an Australian post-punk band formed in 2016 in Sydney by Sophie McComish (guitar and vocals), Annabel Blackman (guitar and vocals), Georgia Wilkinson-Derums (bass and vocals), and Cecil Coleman (drums). The group incorporates elements of garage rock, post-punk, and dream pop into their sound.

In 2018, the band released their debut EP, Body Type, consisting of six tracks. The EP includes the single “Ludlow,” originally released in 2016 and responsible for introducing the quartet to the independent scene.

The band’s second EP, EP2, was released in May 2019, solidifying the group’s name in the Australian indie scene.

Body Type gained recognition for their dynamic live shows and went on to open tours for major indie rock acts such as the Pixies, Fontaines D.C., and Sleater-Kinney.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the band signed with the Australian label Poison City Records, through which they released Everything Is Dangerous but Nothing's Surprising (2022), their debut album. Subsequently, the quartet expanded their discography with Expired Candy (2023), their second studio album.
