Virgin Atlantic, Richard Branson's airline, will promote mini-concerts on its airline for domestic flights (in the United Kingdom), Little Red.
The company, which had already organized "stand up comedy" performances on flights to Edinburgh, Scotland, will focus on musical shows that, says the Telegraph, will be inspired by the Scottish music scene and that of Manchester.
The artists will be announced through social media and information will not be announced in advance as to which flights will host shows. According to Branson, the intention is to "shake up domestic flights in the United Kingdom". The "aerial" shows begin in September.
Virgin Records, Branson's first business, celebrates its 40th anniversary this year with several events, an exhibition, a documentary and a compilation. The first album released by Virgin was Tubular Bells , by Mike Oldfield, which would sell 15 million copies. Names like Sex Pistols , Massive Attack , Daft Punk and Chemical Brothers passed through the catalog of the historic publisher.
