When you have ideas and a restless spirit, anything is possible. This Brazilian girl from Bahia quit her job and pursued what made her feel good: music. Before her solo career, Rebeca Matta studied singing and was a member of a band in Salvador that mixed various rhythms.

The basis of Rebeca Matta's music is electronic music, more precisely Trip Hop, combined with elements of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), jazz, samba, and rock. The singer's sweet yet aggressive voice blends perfectly with distorted guitars, samplers, and all the elements that make up her music. Rebeca Matta brought a boost to the complacent MPB scene.

In her solo career, she met producer André T, who became her work partner. Her first album, Tantas Coisas (1998), released independently, was acclaimed by discerning critics, earning her the 1999 Revelation Award from APCA (São Paulo Association of Art Critics).

In 2000, her second album, Garotas Boas Vão Pro Céu, Garotas Más Vão Pra Qualquer Lugar, was released by the Lua Discos label. It's an album that will leave listeners anything but indifferent, featuring her own intriguing compositions and MPB classics with a modern sound.

In 2006, her third album, Rosa Sônica, was released. After this work, the singer dedicated herself to other projects, working as a visual artist, designer, and costume designer.
