The Mars Volta

The Mars Volta is an American band formed in 2001 by two former members of At the Drive-In, Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. 

The band's music is considered progressive rock, with influences from jazz fusion, psychedelic rock, punk rock and Latin music. 

The Mars Volta is known for its energetic and vigorous shows, with great live improvisation, and also for its concept albums.
