PJ Harvey's "Let England Shake" wins Uncut Music Award

PJ Harvey won the 2011 Uncut Music Award with the album Let England Shake

The list of finalists included albums by Radiohead, Bon Iver, Bill Callahan, Fleet Foxes, Josh T. Pearson, Paul Simon and Gillian Welch.

Harvey's tenth album was chosen by a panel chosen by the British magazine that included comedian Stewart Lee, folk singer Linda Thompson and Uncut editor Allan Jones. Remember that Let England Shake also won the prestigious Mercury Prize.

"I am very happy to receive the Uncut Music Award 2011 and it gives me strength to continue walking the paths I have followed over the last 20 years. It also gives strength to my conviction that I must always follow my instincts and continue to do work with meaning and importance", said PJ Harvey.

The singer also confirmed that she is already working on the successor to Let England Shake : "I'm quite advanced in what will be my next work and I still have a great desire to learn. I started working on a new work as soon as I finished recording Let England Shake over a year ago." (Blitz)
