Los Porongas is a Brazilian band formed in 2005 in Rio Branco, Acre, by Diogo Soares (vocals), João Eduardo (guitar), Márcio Magrão (bass), and Jorge Anzol (drums), combining influences ranging from traditional MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) to alternative rock icons such as Sonic Youth and Radiohead.

Their music shows similarities to the work of contemporary bands like Cidadão Instigado, Cidadão Instigado, Ronei Jorge e Os Ladrões de Bicicleta, Cérebro Eletrônico, and Vanguart. The quartet began by standing out in the country's independent festival circuit and soon moved to the city of São Paulo.

In 2007, Los Porongas released their first album, Los Porongas, on the Senhor F Discos label. Produced by Philippe Seabra of Plebe Rude, this album was included in Rolling Stone Brazil magazine's list of the 25 best albums of the year.

Their second album, O Segundo Depois do Silêncio, was released in 2011 by Baritone Records. The band returned with a new album in 2015, when they released Infinito Agora.
