A revista Blender resolveu fazer uma lista com os cem melhores álbuns de rock independente de sempre. A apresentação deste top é feita da seguinte forma: "Nascido em garagens suburbanas e disseminado via rádios universitárias, [o rock independente] fez da distorção algo impossível de acreditar, do aborrecimento algo excitante e da falta de vontade uma razão de ser - e hoje em dia, devido aos blogs é mais popular que nunca.
