Marina, known in her first three albums as Marina & The Diamonds, is a Welsh singer of Greek descent born on October 10, 1985 in Abergavenny as Marina Diamandis. Her first single was "Obsessions", released in November 2008. In 2009, the young singer released the EP The Crown Jewels.
Marina & The Diamonds' striking voice has been compared to contemporary singers such as Kate Nash and Florence + The Machine.
In 2010, she were considered one of the promising acts in pop music. The young singer released her first album, entitled The Family Jewels, and performed at several European festivals. Electra Heart, her second album, arrived in 2012.
Froot, her third album, was released in 2015. In 2018, she dropped the “and the Diamonds” from her name. And, simply as Marina, she released Love + Fear in 2019. This was followed by Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land (2021) and Princess of Power (2025).
