Brazilian band Supercordas, formed in 2003 by Bonifrate and Diogo Valentino in Rio de Janeiro, plays music that blends psychedelic and experimental rock. The group gained admirers in the Brazilian independent rock scene with their first album, A Pior das Alergias, released by the Midsummer Madness label in 2003. The following year, the band released the EP Satélites no Bar.

In 2006, Supercordas released the acclaimed album Seres Verdes ao Redor, initially recorded at Trama studios in São Paulo (after the group won a contest promoted by Capricho magazine) and finalized by the band themselves in a home studio. Due to its more sophisticated production, Seres Verdes ao Redor is considered the group's first official album.

The band returned with a new album in 2012, releasing A Mágica Deriva dos Elefantes, featuring the following lineup: Bonifrate (vocals, guitar and acoustic guitar), Diogo Valentino (bass), Kauê Ravaneda (guitar), Filipe Giraknob (guitar and effects), Gabriel Ares (keyboards) and Digital Ameríndio (drums).

In 2015, Terceira Terra, the band's last album, was released. The following year, the band announced its end.
