According to Pitchfork, the new album by Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks it will be called "Mirror Traffic" (photo) and will be released on August 23rd.
Producing (and - who knows? - something else) will be Beck, who recently produced "Demolition Thoughts", the recently released solo album by Thurston Moore, from Sonic Youth.
The one who is leaving Malkmus' band is former Sleater-Kinney Janet Weiss, drummer who continues to work in Mary Timony's new band, which also includes another Sleater-Kinney (reunion in sight?), guitarist Carrie Brownstein. All in the family. (Blitz)
