Karen O, vocalista do Yeah Yeah Yeahs, produz "psycho opera"

Karen O, vocalista do Yeah Yeah Yeahs, produziu uma ópera intitulada "Stop the Virgens" e vai estreá-la na St. Ann's Warehouse, no Brooklyn (Nova Iorque), no próximo dia 12 de outubro. O espetáculo, que a cantora apelida de "psycho opera", continuará em cena até 22 de outubro. 

"Stop the Virgens" vai contar com a colaboração de Nick Zinner e Brian Chase, colegas de O no Yeah Yeah Yeahs: o primeiro é co-compositor de algumas das músicas da ópera e o segundo vai fazer parte da banda que atuará ao vivo na produção. O diretor do espetáculo é Adam Rapp, romancista, dramaturgo e diretor.
 
Sobre a ópera, Karen O disse o seguinte: "Sei bem sobre o que é esta "psycho opera" mas não me atreveria a usar as minhas palavras atrapalhadas para descrever. Espero criar uma experiência original. A intenção é fazer as pessoas sentirem que estão numa viagem psicodélica que está ligada a uma catarse". (Blitz)
