Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean is an American R&B singer and songwriter who started to stand out on the pop music scene in 2010, when he became a member of alternative hip hop collective Odd Future. Before, however, he had already started his career as a composer writing songs that were recorded by artists like Justin Bieber and John Legend.

The singer, whose real name is Christopher Breaux, was born in Long Beach, California, on October 28, 1987, but was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina destroyed his recording location and he moved to Los Angeles, where he started working with some music producers.

Following his entry into Odd Future, Frank Ocean launched in 2011 a mixtape entitled Nostalgia, Ultra. Based on nostalgic R&B, with themes such as relationships, personal reflections and social issues, Nostalgia, Ultra was acclaimed by music critics. The mixtape originated two singles: "Novacane" and "Swim Good". The good repercussion led Frank Ocean to collaborate on Watch the Throne, an album released by rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West, in August 2011. He also co-wrote the song "I Miss You", from album 4, by singer Beyoncé Knowles.

In July 2012, amid the controversy of the singer's bisexuality, the long-awaited first album came out. Channel Orange was launched by Def Jam Recordings. A few hours after its release on iTunes, Channel Orange ranked number one on the store's download chart.

In 2016, he released Endless, a visual album by the streaming service Apple Music. That same year Blonde arrived, his second studio album.
