Incorporating elements of trip hop, shoegaze, electronics and hip hop, the American band Phantogram was welcomed into the indie scene with their first album, 'Eyelid Movies', released in 2009. Formed by friends Josh Carter (guitar, vocals) and Sarah Barthel ( keyboards, vocals) in 2007, the band was initially called Charlie Everywhere.

In 2011 Phantogram released the EP 'Nightlife'. In the same year, the duo collaborated on three tracks on Big Boi's album 'Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors'. "You Lust", track from the album 'The Terror' (2013), by the group The Flaming Lips, also features the band.

'Voices', the duo's second album, came out in February 2014. In 2016, the band released 'Three'. 'Ceremony', his fourth album, was released in 2020.
