Gram

Formed in São Paulo in 2002, the band Gram emerged on the Brazilian alternative rock scene with a melancholic sound, rich in piano arrangements, distinctive guitar riffs, and synthesizers. The group consisted of Sergio Guilherme Filho (vocals, guitar, and piano), Luiz Ribalta (guitar and vocals), Marcello Pagotto (bass, synthesizer, and vocals), Marco Loschiavo (guitar and programming), and Fernando Falvo (drums and percussion).

In 2003, the band independently released its first studio album, titled Gram. The album was very well received by music critics, generating curiosity and praise in the music press.

This phase of the group was marked by the music video for the song “Você pode ir na Janela,” which received heavy rotation on MTV Brasil. The band’s sound was frequently compared favorably to major names in the scene at the time, with one of its most notable influences being the acclaimed album Bloco do Eu Sozinho, by Los Hermanos.

The success caught the attention of the record label Deckdisc, which re-released the debut album in 2004, expanding the band’s reach. Buoyed by the re-release, the band members embarked on an intense tour schedule, performing at major festivals across the country, including appearances at MADA (Natal, 2004) and Abril Pro Rock (Recife, 2005).

In 2005, Gram reached an important milestone in their career with the release of the project MTV Presents Gram, recorded live and distributed on CD and DVD.

Their second and final studio album, Seu Minuto, Meu Segundo, hit stores in September 2006, maintaining the band’s melodic and dense sound. However, to the surprise of fans and critics alike, the band unexpectedly disbanded the following year.
