Patti smith , Iggy Pop , Courtney Love, Michael Stipe (photo) are some of the artists who participate in the pirate music compilation produced by Johnny Depp. For this album, Tom Waits and Keith Richards teamed up to record a version of "Shenandoah", a traditional American song that is available on streaming.
The compilation, titled "Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys" was produced by Depp, Gore Verbinsky and Winner Hall and will be released on February 18th. The album will have 36 tracks divided into 2 CDs.
In addition to the collaboration between Waits and Richars, other renowned artists participate such as Iggy Pop, Patti Smith (along with Depp himself), Sean Lennon, a collaboration between Michael Stipe and Courtney Love, Frank Zappa, Broken Social Scene, among many others.
