In 2001, the first work by Sufjan Stevens , “Enjoy Your Rabit”, a conceptual album about the Chinese zodiac. Eight years later, Sufjan decided to review this album and remake it with string arrangements performed by the Osso quartet, who had already worked with Sufjan on “Illinois”. This idea will be put into an album called “Run Rabit Run”.
The project was created by Bryce Dessner (The National) and the arrangements were worked on by composers such as Nico Muhly, Michael Atkinson, Olivier Manchon and Maxim Moston, in addition to the cover being taken care of by Bryce's sister, Jéssica Dessner.
The album will be released on October 6th via Asthmatic Kitty.
Furthermore, Sufjan Stevens will participate in the Pop Montreal festival, where his fans await new music, four years after “Illinois”, his last new work.
