Jenny Hval is a Norwegian singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist associated with genres such as art pop, electronic and experimental folk. Her music incorporates elements of poetry, prose and film. Under the name Rockettothesky, she has released two albums — To Sing You Apple Trees (2006) and Medea (2008).
As Jenny Hval, the singer has released the albums Viscera (2001), Innocence is Kinky (2013), Apocalypse, girl (2015) and Blood Bitch (2016).
Blood Bitch was praised by critics and appeared on several best of the year lists. Its successor The Practice of Love, arrived in 2019.
In 2021, she released the album Menneskekollektivet with the Lost Girls project, a partnership with collaborator Håvard Volden. A new solo work, Classic Objects, arrived in 2022.
