The British are already placing their bets for the 2012 Mercury Prize; Kasabian and Noel Gallagher top the list

Although the Mercury Prize took place on the 6th, with the victory of PJ Harvey , names of possible winners for next year have already begun to circulate.

According to the NME website, Kasabian (photo) and Noel Gallagher should be the favorites for the 2012 Mercury Prize at the bookmakers. The Leicester band will compete with their fourth album, "Velociraptor", while Noel Gallagher will debut with his debut "High Flying Birds".

Other artists who appear on the list, but with less chances, are the four boys from Coldplay and their fifth album, "Mylo Xyloto", as well as Florence & The Machine and Mumford & Sons, both with successors to their debut albums.

Radiohead is also mentioned in the list, even though they released their latest studio album, "The King Of Limbs", at the beginning of the year and with strong rumors that they will be touring in the coming months and without time to record new material.
