O+S

O+S is a project formed by American musicians Orenda Fink, known for her work with Azure Ray and Art in Manila, and Cedric LeMoyne, bassist for the band Remy Zero, who is also known as Scalpelist.

Longtime friends, the two began collaborating in Birmingham, Alabama, combining Fink’s melancholic dream pop with LeMoyne’s programming, sound collages, and electronic atmospheres.

Their debut album, O+S, was released in March 2009 by Saddle Creek Records. Produced by Michael Patterson, known for his work with Beck and Ladytron, the album combined loops, acoustic instruments, and Fink’s ethereal vocals in compositions influenced by dream pop and trip-hop, imbued with cinematic atmospheres.

After a long hiatus, the duo returned in 2017 with You Were Once the Sun, Now You’re the Moon, which includes the track “Flowers Turn to Fire,” released in 2013 as a single. This second album further explored the blend of intimate melodies, electronic beats, and dark soundscapes that is a defining feature of the duo’s music.
