The Brazilian band Bidê ou Balde began its formation in 1998 in the city of Porto Alegre. With Carlinhos (vocals), Rossatto (guitar), André (bass), Pedro (drums), Leandro Sá (guitar and vocals), Katia (keyboards and vocals), and Viviane (vocals), the group released its debut album in 2000. Se sexo é o que importa, só rock é sobre amor featured the track "Melissa," the band's first hit, which received frequent airplay on Porto Alegre radio stations.
The band's music primarily incorporates elements of new wave and alternative rock, in danceable and melodic songs.
Their second album, Outubro ou Nada! arrived in 2002. Without keyboardist Katia, the band released É Preciso dar Vazão aos Sentimentos in 2004.
In 2012, Bidê ou Balde returned with Eles São Assim. E Assim Por Diante. Their fifth album, Gilgongo! ou, a Última Transmissão da Rádio Ducher, was released in 2015. After this work, the band went on a long hiatus.
